if the tree was a Birch, then I would go for the Birch Polypore in an early stage, but it does not look like Birch to me ?
not sure what else it might be other than that though ?

its said that G.applanatum is host to a gall fly which leaves tell tale galls on the underside, which can sometimes be an aid in getting an id on these (that's providing said fly has laid its eggs on the Ganoderma in the first place :roll: )

this one had me puzzled for a while, but I think its Daedaleopsis confragosa - the Blushing Bracket, albeit not the usual colour etc it usually is, but i snipped a bit of the pore surface out of the image and enlarged it a little, and you can just make out the slot shaped pores forming, so i'm fdair...

a nice specimen of Xerula radicata or Rooting Shank,
its said to be quite common, but its not one i find too often myself, so pleased to find it :D
