Meadow Sweet and Periwinkles

one of my favourite flowers, Meadow sweet, not far from flowering now :)
looking forward to getting my first smell of them soon :)

Auricularia auricula or Jelly Ear, its been a while since I saw any of this one,
so nice to find some today, a little dry, but last nights rain seems to have helped :)

we have been finding the occaisional dead bird in the garden, almost all of which are intact, and without seemingly any marks or injury on them at all. we get neighbours cats in the garden on a regular basis, but I've never seen a cat catch a bird in the garden, so cant say if its down to cats or no...
