some frogspawn in one of the trackside ditches at Treswell Wood at the weekend,
this small batch was all we saw, none in the ponds or other ditches that we could seem
in previous years it has ben quite plentiful,

i've seen reports that the frog population is down this year, for reasons unknown
certainly the places i've looked at dont seem to have as many frogs or spawn, with some having none at all,
some blame the lack of garden ponds for the decline in numbers, but that wouldn't explain why there are none out in the wilds, where usually there are lots of them ?

no spawn, but did see these small tadpoles, they were in a scant half inch of water in some wheel ruts,
many more had already perished due to their bits of puddles having dried up,
and if we don't get some rain soon, them i'm afraid these ones will soon follow to :(

hopefully, if they have survived so far, the may get a reprieve, as we are forecast to get some rain overnight and into tomorrow,
be nice if they could make it to froglet stage after all :)
