thunder storm !
we had just returned home from a great afternoons walk, at about 5pm, nice and sunny, quite warm at times too,
when an ominous rumble rolled out of the sky, and a large black cloud mass was heading our way,
it seemed to pass us by, with just a few large drops of rain falling,

until a few minutes later when the heavens opened and it rained like it was never going to stop, water was rushing down the road, with manhole lids being lifted of and gushing more water out onto the road,

10 minutes later and the sun is shining again !
the rain only lasted 10 minutes, but the road under the railway bridge was flooded quite deeply, with several cars floating about under the bridge !

other parts of the town were flooded too, with the resultant chaos as every one tried to find alternate ways home,

we were lucky to have made it home before the deluge started, or we would have been caught up in the chaos too :D

you wouldn't have thought that much water could fall in just a few minutes.

the storm missed us yesterday, but a couple of miles down the road caught the tail end of it, with a bit of local flooding,
