this one was growing alongside what i believe was Xanthoria parietina,
and might be a Parmelia species ??? or maybe not ? :D

Xanthoria parietina ?

Xanthoria parietina or not ? while it looks like Xanthoria parietina, this one is a little different in that is is mainly green, with a few bits of yellow in it, having found several images that have this colour and are labelled as being Xanthoria parietina, i think thats what it is Lichen 1.JPG Lic...

having his book shrink wrapped was a bit ironic i feel :roll: i fear we will have a very long wait, if ever, for recycling to reach 100% (or even 50%) and as others point out, there will still be a large proportion of the population who will still throw stuff about with a care as to what its effects...

the white Nettle is always one of the late flowering ones, and the red one seems to flower even in frosty spells through the winter too,

flying earwigs !

just found this video on the National Geographics site, feturing an earwig with wings ! i must say i hadn't realised Earwigs could even fly :o anyhow, have a look Here and see what you think :) on my computer it was a little slow to open, with a black screen for a few seconds, but was worth the wait...
