Lactarius

quite a few of these Lactarius species under some conifers, trouble is i cant decide which one it might be,
i think its either hepaticus or rufus, and i'm leaning towards the first one,
pity i didnt think to test the milk on a tissue, as it turns yellow for hepaticus i believe, while that of rufus stays white,
any thoughts on it welcome,

i always think of hepaticus being a darker shade than those, but thats not to say yours are not hepaticus either,
and as you say, the milk test would have been a great help, but its something i very often forget about too :oops:
