Polyporus brumalis

#1

Post by ashgale » December 1st, 2018, 11:38 am

we spent a couple of wet hours at Budby this morning, where eveything looked grey and miserable,
but in an area where lots of Birches had been felled a couple of years ago, we found lots of Polyporus brumalis on the trunks that had been left to rot on the ground,
most were still only very small, but we counted at least 60 of them in one small area ! so it was worth getting a bit wet

most years i hardly see any at all, but this year is something of an exception for me,
the majority of the ones seen were very small ones , so probably lots of bigger ones to be found later on :D
