Sedge Warbler
heard rather than seen, from among a reed bed at a lake edge,
a Sedge Warbler ! :) i had to listen to quite of few bird songs on the rspb site before i got the right one
but its song was unmistakable from among the reeds

Turtle Dove
my B.O.T.D from yesterday was a Turtle Dove,
and although i took about a dozen photos of it none of them turned out too well at all :(
with this very disappointing image being the best of the bunch :( it looks more like a wood pigeon from this shot than a Turtle Dove !

nothing exotic or outstanding for my B.O.T.D
just a plain old wood pigeon on a neighbours roof, cooing for all it was worth :)

i was knelt under one of our small trees doing a spot of weeding, when i heard lots of twittering from above, and when i looked up there was a flock of Long Tailed Tits busily seeking insects among the branches :)
and just when i had no camera too

that happens to me lots of times too, whenever we get a visit from something different, i have either not got the camera to hand or they are off before i can point it at them
but just seeing those long tailed tits close by is enough i think :)
